Watotolly kicks off summer by expanding team, moving to LA
As summer heats up, we are thrilled to announce three new strategic additions to our team: a product strategy / marketing ops intern, a legal advisor, and a design firm! These individuals reflect the culture and spirit of our business and will be crucial assets to our success as we continue to push forward on our journey to decrease the cost and complexity of childcare for hardworking families everywhere. Additionally, we will be moving our business from Philadelphia to Southern California as we focus on serving military families stationed at bases in LA and San Diego as well as millennial parents in the following Los Angeles neighborhoods:
Julius Olalusi, Product Strategy & Marketing Operations Summer Intern
Chicago native Julius Olalusi is a first generation Master’s level student at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education. He holds a BA in Africana Studies with a minor in Economic Policy. Julius brings value to the Watotolly team through his status as a digital in influencer with experience in research, social media strategy, and marketing. He previously worked at the National Urban League HQ in New York City as a Marketing and Communications Intern. Prior to that, he served as a research fellow for Penn's Center for the Study of Race & Equity. During his time he developed marketing strategy for Research, Integration, Strategies, and Evaluation (RISE) for Boys and Men of Color summer convening. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alphi Fraternity Incorporated and visionary behind e-commerce fashion startup: Empire Olo.
Jean-Marc Chanoine, Legal Advisor
Jean-Marc is a technology consultant and licensed attorney based in New York. He is a 2017 MBA graduate of UC-Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and earned a JD from Georgetown University in 2010. Jean-Marc recently completed the Fellowship at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics. He is a veteran of the US Navy where he served as General Counsel of Naval Nuclear Power Training Command. Jean-Marc - originally from Haiti - majored in Law at University of Central Florida, graduated in 2007 and was awarded by UCF for his professional achievements as an attorney in 2014 (video credit: Odyssey Creative).
Astronaut Monastery, Creative Design Studio
Watotolly has contracted Astronaut Monastery, a creative studio based out of New York and Philadelphia, led by Univ. of Pennsylvania alum Cody Min. Astronaut Monastery is focused on branding and content creation. Clients include McKinsey, ING Group, Saatchi & Saatchi, Master & Dynamic, sweetgreen, The Philadelphia Orchestra, Optimum (Cablevision), and the University of Pennsylvania.
